In a decades long tradition, Hartford area residents gather to make a shared call for Nuclear Weapons Abolition. August 6th, 2018 is the 73rd anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. The Unitarian Society of Hartford will host a pot luck dinner at 6:30 pm at the Unitarian Meeting House, followed by a program of music, spoken word,
and an anniversary candle-lighting ceremony from 7 to 8:00 pm. Our Board Member and regional representative to the National UNA Council, Miguel Arroyo will speak.
Miguel Arroyo is a passionate advocate for the United Nations and has been involved with UNA-USA for over a decade. Miguel currently serves in the UNA-USA National Council representing the New England Region and is a board member of the United Nations Association of Connecticut. Miguel works at the University of Bridgeport (UB) and is also an adjunct professor of American Government and Spanish at the the College of Public and International Affairs at UB. Miguel is originally from Chile and now lives in Bridgeport, CT.
